Market Research

Hi Lovelies

Its been a while since my last post, I've been busy working on my business plan and pulling my hair out over the numbers side. Well I've never been a Maths kinda gal, the most I can add up in my head is 2+2, its like a block, my brain doesn't like it :(

Its never really been an issue before, but since I have been doing my business plan Ive had to work out all my costings, prices and so on and well lets just say its been hard work!

With my head in my books I'd lost sight of what I loved doing and that's baking bah!!!!!!

But then I had a really nice meeting with Mary and Gillian from Tedco and they inspired me to start baking again and get out there and start selling!

They really inspired me and I went straight home and baked up some cupcakes!!!

As well as wanting my cupcakes to look good, I also want them to taste yummy too. As my customers are important to me I wanted to do some market research to see exactly what people thought, and anything that I could improve or whether they were good to go.

I baked up a storm in my kitchen with batches of cupcakes and icing sugar dust.... it gets everywhere! And boxed them up ready to go to my lovely testers!!!

I got some amazing feedback and was really pleased with how it all went!

Some of the comments were so lovely I just have to share :) .... I say whilst blushing ha!

"Cupcake was lovely and moist and touched my sweet buds well"

"Very tasty, the sponge was lovely and light too"

"Cake was very nice and was well presented, top marks"

"Make some more please"

"We want more"

"Would buy it, was lush"

"Well presented cake and I would buy them anytime"

"Nicest cupcake I've ever had, fresh and fruity"

"I don't tend to eat cakes, but they looked so moreish, cakes didn't disappoint in taste, Peaches N Cream was my favorite, it tasted really light"

"The jam inside was a nice surprise and the cookie for the mouth was good"

"I loved the different textures, the cake itself was light and fluffy"

"Really like the peaches in the middle of the cake"

In all I did three markets research batches, and they were all a success, so thank you everyone who tested my cupcakes for me!!!

I also did an engagement party with a pink and black theme, they wanted a cupcake tier to be the center piece of their buffet.

Everybody loved the cupcakes, and they gave them to guests to take home and enjoy as a thank you for attending!!

Would love to know what you think of my cupcakes :)

I'm off to bake up another icing storm,

Thanks for reading

Tatty Teddy Giant Cupcake

Hi, just a quick post to share with you a cake I made for my friends birthday a couple of weeks ago.

I made her a special Tatty Teddy Giant Cupcake, she loves tatty teddy and was so pleased with her cake :)

I used one of my own tatty teddy bears to compare and make sure I got the colours and look perfect!

I dyed the vanilla butter cream icing grey and used a grass piping nozzle to get the bears fur look. I also dyed and cut fondant icing to make the bears ears, patch, eyes, nose and Laura name banner. The giant cupcake was also filled with yummy butter cream icing.

I had such fun making this cute cake. I would love to know what you think? Or if anyone would like a recipe just let me know!!

It's all about ME ;)

Hi I'm Felicity but to you and everyone I love it's Flic.

This is my first post and basically just a little about me and what my blog is going to be about. I've just started my own small business working from home called It's Love Cupcakery. I absolutely love baking cupcakes and cakes and well any sweet treat to put a smile others faces. I  found my self unemployed and thought what a perfect time to start my own business doing something I love and am passionate about right?

So I threw myself into it!!!
I'm currently doing the Princes Trust Enterprise Scheme and am loving every minute of it, I sleep breath and literally eat yummy cupcakes and cakes! I love my cupcakes, but I equally love designing cakes and wedding cakes.

I'm going to be blogging about my cakes I've made, handy tips, events and weddings I do as well as trends, themes and anything I find inspiration from.

Something I'm loving at the minute is playing around with spring coloured icing, and have been experimenting with different colours! I have been getting inspiration from this frosting chart below:

Pretty right?

I hope you will enjoy my blog and my cakes as much as I enjoy baking them.

Have a nice weekend, and remember you can find inspiration from anywhere, and the best thing is its free!!!
